Budget Department

 

The Budget Department is responsible for the planning and management of the defense establishment's budget, and reports to the Defense Ministry Director General and IDF Chief of the General Staff.

The budget department is the professional authority on all economic matters of the defense establishment. It establishes financial policy as it relates to ministry procurement operations, conducts economic forecasts and analyzes the macro-impact of the defense budget on the Israeli economy.

The department is also responsible for presenting a financial situation assessment on a yearly and multi-year basis. The report focuses on both local currency and international assistance, and serves as the foundation for operational and financial planning of over 50 units within the defense establishment, including branches of the IDF and major national projects led by the Ministry of Defense.
