The Ministry of Defense Mission in North America

 

​​The Ministry of Defense Mission in North America is at the forefront of the MOD's procurements funded with Foreign Military Financing, operating in a manner that exemplifies the values of integrity, professionalism, excellence, and the nurturing of its human resources, all in service of the Israel Defense Forces, the Israeli Defense Establishment, and the State of Israel.

The Mission is the representative of the MOD in North America, efficiently performing procurement for the Israel Defense Forces and helping to strengthen Israel's security in times of routine and crisis. The Mission maintains close ties with the U.S. Government and is the MOD's central source of knowledge for procurements funded with Foreign Military Financing.


Responsibilities include:  

  • Maintaining and strengthening IDF operational capabilities through the use of FMF funded procurements in the U.S.

  • Involvement in discussions with U.S. officials regarding U.S. Security Assistance for Israel.

  • Providing administrative services for Israeli Defense Establishment personnel in the U.S.

  • Providing rehabilitation services for injured IDF veterans.

  • Responsibility for an annual budget of over U.S. $3.3 billion: approximately 20% of the annual Israeli defense budget.    

  • Processing more than 5,000 purchase orders annually.

  • Transporting approximately 66,000 shipping lots annually.

  • Processing over 37,000 invoices annually.
